Roadtrip 2016 - Day #3
July 7, 2016

Kenora, Ontario
1,523 kilometres to go. I'm more than halfway now! For the geography fans out there, I passed a couple of significant milestones today: (1) I'm now in the Central Time Zone , and (2) I'm now in the Arctic watershed. Tomorrow I'll leave Ontario, the Canadian Shield, and the boreal forest behind and head out onto the prairie.
I decided to have a short day today on the road and spend the late afternoon and evening in Kenora. This is a really beautiful town, with a great waterfront. I'm trying AirBNB for the first time. The bonus of the place I found is that it comes with a playful Boston Terrier named Vader! I tried to work in a yoga practice tonight, but it seems as though Kenora's only studio was recently closed. There's a very unfriendly notice on the window that says something about how the landlord has locked the place due to rent not being paid.
Now that I'm this far north, I spotted a few birds today that we don't generally see in Southern Ontario - bald eagles, American white pelicans, and ravens.
